On February 10, 2008 at the beautiful and vast Bovard Auditorium in the University of Southern California (USC) members of the M.T.O. (Maktab Tarighat Oveyssi Shahmaghsoudi School of Islamic Sufism) Sufi Association at USC gathered to celebrate life and Sufism. The Sufi Celebration: Hidden Angeles of Life was an evening punctuated by beautiful recitations of poetry in multi-languages, Zikr, eastern and western inspired music, Tamarkoz (Sufi Meditation), and lectures on the teachings of the renowned Sufi Master, Hazrat Nader Angha. More than 1000 audience members, including celebrities and distinguished community figures, representing members of many different religious and ethnic backgrounds, experienced the intoxicating effects of the poetry, music, and lectures.
This magical night delivered the message of Sufism, that love is the single unifying force in the Universe and that it binds us all together, to the audience. The program was very well received and enjoyed by all as it was something different and intriguing. After the program ended everyone savored the delicious foods and pastries in the beautiful Bovard courtyard under the night sky, the mood was uplifting and joyous.
