"In awe and silence, in solitude of heart,
are mysteries revealed to the sincere heart."

The School

The M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi®, School of Sufism dates back 1400 years to the time of Prophet Mohammad. The name M.T.O. stands for Maktab Tarighat Oveyssi, which literally means “The School of the Path of Oveys.” Oveys refers to the founder of the school, Hazrat Oveys Gharani, whose way of inward cognition was approved by the Prophet. Although never physically meeting the Prophet, Hazrat Oveys Gharani was nonetheless a student of his and through a strong spiritual bond was able to learn the Sufi way.

Shahmaghsoudi refers to the forty-first master of the Oveyssi School, Hazrat Shah Maghsoud whose teachings opened a new chapter in Sufism, and the reality of Islam became known like never before.
